Japanese label BEDWIN , founded by Masafumi “Bebeton” Watanabe (who also co-founded Tenderloin, boasts paramount quality in their apparel. Following a simple yet tried-and-true concept of fresh twists and perspective on classics, staples we are all familiar with such as toggle coats, suits and button downs become something rather modern and new without being jarring. The label’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection sees interesting pieces such as sturdy woolen suits, white button downs with print details on sleeves, brightly colored pea coats and toggle coats, deliberately wrinkled denim jackets and newsboy caps. UNION LA just received some great pieces from Bedwin such as the rain jacket and button downs. Check out Union LA for more Fall shopping.

Scott Jarvie will be exhibiting his atlas chair at this year’s 100% design london. the design is derived by projecting flat angled planes through a volume and using the intersecting elements to generate the profiles that create the sections of the chair. this allows complex surface geometry to be rationalized to planar surfaces, providing sculptural possibilities while utilizing materials efficiently, developing a system that facilitates construction.
